In 1756 the Polish nobleman Jan Nepomuk Kamiński built a wooden Roman Catholic chapel on this place. In 1809 Mikułasz Jełowicki built a new chapel, and in 1852 it was completed by Jan Tomaszewicz.
In the 1870s, the Czechs settled on the outskirts of Hrushvytsia, they founded such settlements as Hrushvytsia Cheska, Martynivka, and Dibrivka.
In 1927, a Roman Catholic parish was founded, which included the villages of Dibrivka, Diadkovychi, Hrabyna, Hrushvytsia, Ivanychi, Kardash, Leontovka, Martynivka, Malyi and Velykyi Shpakiv, Novosilky, Omelianshchyna, Peredily, Ploska, Pokosy, Yanivka – a total of 1,176 Catholics (Czechs and Poles).
The construction of the church began on July 2, 1928 under the leadership of priest Stanisław Jadczyk. It was carried out by the masters from the School of Bricklayers’ Students in Kremenets. On October 6, 1929, the cornerstone and the construction protocol were consecrated. On August 18, 1930, the construction was completed. The total cost of the works was 60,000 Polish zlotys (PLN). The priest’s house was built nearby. On September 28, 1930, on St. Wenceslaus Day, the Bishop Adolf Selażski consecrated the church.
Later such priests as Wiśniewski and Mykoła Urod headed the parish.
During World War II, the house was burned down and the church was significantly damaged. During the Soviet era, the building was used as a grain warehouse, and since the 1980s it has been empty. The area around the church began to be overgrown with bushes, and the church itself continued to collapse.
In 2008, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) community began reconstruction of the church building into an Orthodox church. The community completed the building with the bell tower and the central dome, the workers replaced the roof of the building, carried out internal repairs, and installed an iconostasis (a wall of icons and religious paintings, separating the nave from the sanctuary). The first entrance to the temple took place on April 7, 2012.
