Uhiltsi Age-Long Poplar
The approximate age of the tree is 400 years. It is the oldest poplar in Ukraine and in Europe.

The total area is 0.01 hectares. Buhryn Village Council of Hoshcha Raion (district) of Rivne Oblast (region) is the land user. A species of the tree is a Populus alba, commonly called silver poplar, silverleaf poplar, or white poplar. It is the oldest tree specimen among the poplars of Europe and Ukraine. In 2009 it was included in the register-directory “The oldest trees of Ukraine” in the “Parade of winners” section, published by the State Service for Natural Reserve Fund of Ukraine, Kyiv Ecological and Cultural Centre with the assistance of the UN Global Environment Facility in Ukraine.
The tree was planted by locals between 1587 and 1607, while the first written mention of the village dates back to 1577. The trunk circumference is 9 m 60 cm at a height of 1 m 30 cm. The trunk diameter is 2 m 80 cm. The height is 27 m. The approximate age of the tree is 400-420 years. The locals call is “Osyka” (literally it means “Aspen”).
In 2020, the tree broke during gusts of wind. However, the stump of the Uhiltsi Poplar is also impressive in size.
