The spring is located in the western part of the Ponebel village, which is well-known for its ancient history. Back in the 19th century, the Professor Mykola Biliashivskyi discovered 13 burial mounds and tools from the times of Kyivan (Kievan) Rus on the territory of the village.
The Ponebel village is surrounded by ponds from the south and east, and Pidhory Isolated Terrain from the north. This is a deepening with numerous valleys, such as Vuz’ka, Persha, Chamkova, and Brikaliova. The place originated in the last glacial period, it was washed away by a huge glacier that receded to the north. On the south-eastern side of the village there is a stream called Zhyvets (a tributary of the Ustia River), which name literally means “a well where water seeps”.
